Bryn Elltyd Eco House is a Visit Wales-graded, carbon-neutral place to stay in Tanygrisiau, near Blaenau Ffestiniog, Gwynedd, North Wales. It is set up for small groups and multi-generation breaks, with 5 en suite bedrooms, electric car charging, and practical storage for outdoor kit.

How the house is laid out

Bryn Elltyd Eco House can sleep 7 to 12 guests across:

3 upstairs bedrooms in the main house
2 ground floor annex rooms (optional)

Each bedroom has an en suite shower room, plus TV, WiFi.

The annex rooms

The two ground floor annex rooms are an optional extra and have turf roofs, which is part of the way we have improved insulation and reduced environmental impact.

If you are booking as a group, the annex rooms can be a good way to give people a little more space and privacy, while still staying together.

Electric car charging

We have 3 electric car charge points on site. Charging is powered by renewable electricity, and we have had 100% successful charges since 2012.

Storage for outdoor kit

If you are visiting for the hills or local activities, there is lockable storage available for:

Disabled buggies

Open access to the mountain

From the house there is open access to the mountain, making it easy to head straight out for a walk without needing to drive first.

Arenig

Large single/ small double with en suite shower

The Arenig Room contains a particularly comfortable 4ft wide bed with an additional child’s drop down bunk on request. Cosy internally insulated walls.

Front-facing, the room provides stunning views across the lake, steam trains and distant Arenig mountains.

Moelwyn Bach

En Suite shower, Double or Twin Room (with additional fixed bed available.)

The Moelwyn Bach Room look out at the mountain Moelwyn Back ( 1.5 hours to top ) contains a luxurious super king size bed which can be converted to two single beds if required.
There is an additional a 2’6″ fixed bed area available, allowing for an occupancy of up to 3 people.

The Moelwyn Bach Room offers spectacular views of the garden, steam trains and surrounding mountains.

Manod Mawr

Double Room with En Suite shower

The Manod Mawr Room contains a double bed and has great views from the large window which fills the room with light.

Views of Manod Mawr mountain, lake and Ffestiniog steam trains.
